Mooloolaba is arguably the best beachside location in the world. It has a beautiful climate, excellent sea temperatures for swimming, without the threat of the stingers that can be present in the North Queensland waters.
The council does an excellent job of maintaining and constantly improving the area, with shaded boardwalks, parks and many BBQ areas.
There is a plethora of excellent alfresco beachside dining venues.
Mooloolaba beach curves in such a way that you can choose which height of surf you wish to swim in. The further south you go, the gentler the waves, protected by a spit of land, which is also the entrance to the Yachtsman’s playground.
My favourite part of Mooloolaba, however, is situated near the end of the spit, the seafood markets. When Kate and Wills visited Australia recently, the prawns they were fed came from Mooloolaba.
